The Black Hollies - Paisley Pattern Ground

Oh I must apologize for my abense on this blog. School's a bitch, but The Black Hollies helped releave that stress. The minute I heard them, I thought this band was from the 60's. I did a little research, and apparently they did becuase they sound just like a sixties band. That dirty guitar, buzzing vintage sound, and those sweet melodic vocals. Definitely one to check out the rest of their stuff. This song sold me and I've read the review on the CD. Sounds phenomenal.

Enjoy.

Passion Pit - The Reeling

Ok, When I first heard this song I just could not get it out of my head, and once I got it I constantly was playing it over and over. Todaym I've played it out, but it's definitely enjoyable to listen to. Passion Pit is from Cambridge Mass. They started in '07 and uses keyboards, synth, vocals, and drums. They are highly Electro with a twist of Indie Rock. Great band...too bad they're on MTV already to the whole American Culture. Still their sounds flows well and its pretty catchy. Manners comes out in stores May 19.

Enjoy The Reeling.

The Faint - Glass Danse

Since I'm going to be seeing The Faint soon, I figured they would be an excellent choice to add to this blog.
They are a electro-new wave type band. They sound highly consists of a synthesizer and keyboards. Can't forget their meaty bass lines. They mix indie rock with 80's pop. They're something you'll find yourself dancing to in the office or in the shower. The distortion on his voice is unmistakable and makes you wish you could talk like that at will.

Here Glass Danse
Enjoy.

Minus The Bear - The Fix

When I first heard Minus the Bear, I could not keep my ears away from them. First song I heard from them is The Fix. The song is so playful and just oh so catchy. The guitar rifts are complicated and the way they put their time together is not orthodox, but it's damn good. Starting from their first EP,
This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic , to now, with the latest EP, Acoustics, they have matured and are searching for newer more experimental ways to play with their sound. I will always be a follow of them and I advise you to check them out.

Songs worth checking out: All of them.

Enjoy

Phoenix - Too Young

Well i dont know what happened to this post so I'll repost it.
"I'm sure this isn't new to most people, but perhaps the few, and that's all
that counts. I've heard the band's name thrown around for a couple years, but now I
finally got a chanced to get some of their music. Their music seems to push the tempo and keep you moving.
It almost makes me want to dance. The way the music is produced is just great quality. His voice is pure and has
really good accompaniment with the rest of the band."

Enjoy.

West Indian Girl - Indian Ocean

West Indian Girl is a LA based band, and if you were on drugs on the beach listening to them, you would know that their sounds just fits where they're from. Their voice has this echo-ey sound and the guitar is pretty low key. The drums are definitely climactic throughout their songs and they just make you wanna fly or jump into a never-ending abyss. They kinda remind me of The Helio Sequence, which I will post some music from them.

Check out this out and enjoy.

Doves - One Of These Days

Sorry guys I haven't been keeping up to date. I've been busy with a lot of work and stuff, so BEAR with me.
So I may have mentioned in the past (or not) that I really don't listen to the radio, we'll I heard Doves on their radio and I must say I was impressed. Their not new (they've been around since "98) but their sound now has developed pretty well. They have this psychedelic/hypnotic feel and as you listen to their songs, they grow out of nothing. Definitely worth the listen.
